Malaysia's Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin has emphasized deepening defence collaboration with Turkiye, citing the launch of the first Littoral Mission Ship Batch 2 vessel as a landmark government-to-government partnership for the Royal Malaysian Navy.
Malaysia is set to receive three Littoral Mission Ship Batch 2 vessels built in Turkey by end-2027, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin announced at the naming ceremony in Istanbul. The ships will enhance the Royal Malaysian Navy's operational strength.
Tengku Amir Shah, Raja Muda of Selangor, has been commissioned as a lieutenant commander in the Royal Malaysian Navy following approval by the Armed Forces Council. The promotion marks his transfer from the Malaysian Army to the RMN Executive Branch.
