Deep-sea mining puts half of vent-dwelling molluscs at extinction risk, warns IUCN
The International Union for Conservation of Nature has warned that deep-sea mining threatens 62 percent of mollusc species living around hydrothermal vents, with 125 out of 201 known species at risk of extinction.
