A foreigner wanted on 34 traffic summonses was apprehended in Pendang yesterday following a failed getaway from a Road Transport Department (RTD) enforcement checkpoint.

The suspect was intercepted during an RTD operation at Guar Kepayang in the early afternoon, after attempting to evade the authorities. The magnitude of outstanding traffic violations attributed to the individual — spanning 34 separate summonses — underscores the seriousness of the traffic compliance issue.

The arrest highlights ongoing enforcement efforts by the RTD to address traffic violations and ensure road safety across the nation. Such operations are conducted regularly to catch motorists with accumulated unpaid fines and breaches of traffic regulations.

The case serves as a reminder to all road users, including foreign nationals, of the importance of adhering to traffic laws and settling outstanding violations promptly to avoid legal consequences.
