The Selangor State Secretary's Office has alerted residents to exercise caution regarding unsolicited messages purporting to relate to the KitaSelangor Voucher incentive. Citizens are urged not to interact with dubious links sent by unverified senders, as such messages are being used to perpetrate online scams. The state government emphasises that the public should only rely on authentic sources for programme details and avoid being deceived by unconfirmed claims.
The recruitment of eligible recipients will commence in phases starting June 23, when chosen applicants will receive official SMS notifications allowing them to confirm their information and register via the dedicated KitaSelangor Voucher Portal along with supporting documentation. An announcement from the state administration is expected on June 22, and residents are encouraged to hold off until then before proceeding with any actions.
The targeted assistance scheme will prioritise recipients identified using information from government agencies. Beneficiaries encompass economically disadvantaged households listed in the eKasih system, redundant workers, individuals in vulnerable circumstances registered with the Social Welfare Department (JKM), and qualifying single mothers meeting the programme's conditions.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari announced that approximately 50,000 lower-income households across Selangor will be eligible to receive RM100 monthly for a six-month duration under the initiative. The scheme, launching June 30, represents a key component of the RM140 million Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package Phase 1 announced in April, designed to support residents confronting economic pressures, inflation, and worldwide supply disruptions.
