The Selangor State Secretary's Office has issued a cautionary notice to safeguard residents from online scams related to the KitaSelangor Voucher Programme. In a statement today, the office stressed that the public should obtain all programme information exclusively through authenticated channels operated by the Selangor State Government, rather than accepting unverified details from other sources.
The voucher programme applications have not yet launched, according to the office. Officials will contact qualified beneficiaries through text messages in phases, commencing on June 23, allowing them to authenticate their information and register their applications on the KitaSelangor Voucher Portal alongside necessary documentation. The public has been advised to await the state government's formal announcement on June 22 before proceeding with any programme-related activities.
The scheme targets specific demographic groups identified through data supplied by relevant agencies. Beneficiaries include households classified as poor in the eKasih database, persons who have lost their jobs, vulnerable populations registered with the Social Welfare Department, and single mothers satisfying the programme's criteria.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari disclosed that approximately 50,000 lower-income households across Selangor will benefit from monthly cash disbursements of RM100 over a half-year duration under this initiative. The programme is scheduled to commence on June 30 as component of the RM140mil Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package Phase 1, which was unveiled on April 16 to assist residents in managing financial strain caused by worldwide economic headwinds, escalating expenses, and supply-chain disruptions.
