As of tonight, the number of people evacuated due to flooding in Perak stands unchanged at 92 individuals representing 33 households. These victims are being accommodated in temporary emergency shelters established across two districts in the state.
According to the State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, affected residents remain sheltered across two sites. Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Hampar in the Larut Matang and Selama districts is currently housing 41 individuals from 14 families, with the inundation affecting Kampung Batu 25, Kampung Berjaya, Kampung Batu 23 and Sungai Rotan.
The second emergency centre, Sekolah Kebangsaan Beruas located in Manjung district, is accommodating 51 victims from 19 families. The flooding impacting this area has affected residents in Kampung Kilang, Taman Anggerik Permai and Kampung Pulau Kabung.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued alerts warning of potential thunderstorms or heavy rainfall affecting several regions. The alert, issued at 6 pm, covers Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Muallim, Batang Padang and Hilir Perak, raising concerns of further adverse weather conditions across the state.
