A Halim Hasoon, 55, was driving the vehicle struck in yesterday's devastating collision at KM43 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway near Bentong. Several hours before the accident, the lorry driver transmitted a photograph via WhatsApp to his relatives, capturing what would ultimately be his last communication with them.

His brother Razali, 57, explained that the image showed A Halim sharing a meal with his wife, daughter and granddaughter. "We could never have predicted that picture would be the final contact we received from my brother," Razali told journalists at Sultan Ahmad Shah Hospital's Forensic Medical Unit in Temerloh.

Razali discovered news of the incident through TikTok and made the journey from Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, to Bentong to obtain details. He also noted that Razali's wife, Mazura Bakar, 50, had maintained a close relationship with her brother-in-law throughout his life. "He confided his thoughts and worries to me because he had no sisters. Whenever difficulties arose, he would turn to me for support. Our last meeting was during Aidilfitri," she recalled.

The collision occurred at 4.30 pm when an overturned trailer loaded with iron dust struck a Honda City. Besides A Halim, the vehicle carried his wife Rozita Buang, 58, their daughter Norbahyah, 26, and his one-year-old granddaughter, Nayla Afya Aizat Faizal. All four perished at the location.

Following the Asar prayers, the four family members will be interred at Mempaga Muslim Cemetery in Bentong. The hospital's Forensic Medical Unit had deployed a Psychological First Aid team to provide counselling assistance to grieving relatives requiring support.
