Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has underscored the importance of ensuring that the nation's economic gains benefit all segments of society, particularly those in rural areas and grassroots communities. Speaking at a Hi-Tea gathering with the fishing and farming community in Muar on June 15, he highlighted that prosperity should extend beyond major infrastructure initiatives and technological advancement.

The Prime Minister pointed out that modernisation efforts, including high-tech ventures such as artificial intelligence and digital transformation, remain vital for Malaysia's future competitiveness. However, he stressed that the welfare and livelihood of rural populations remain central to the MADANI Government's policy objectives.

Anwar emphasised that government development strategies must directly improve the lives of farmers, fishermen, and smallholders rather than concentrating solely on large-scale projects. He called on political leaders and cabinet members to engage directly with communities to understand their challenges and respond effectively to their concerns.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the government channels support through relevant agencies to deliver social assistance and safety nets efficiently to target groups. He stressed the responsibility of leadership to advocate for marginalised populations and ensure no community is sidelined during Malaysia's modernisation journey.
