Enforcement officers from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Kedah branch raided an animal feed processing factory in the Kuala Ketil Industrial Area on June 15, investigating suspected violations related to wheat flour storage without authorisation.
The operation, conducted by four personnel from the Baling branch at approximately 4.30 pm, revealed wheat flour being held at the facility for use in the company's animal feed production operations. According to Kedah KPDN director Muhammad Nizam Jamaludin, inspectors uncovered evidence of storage without the requisite approval.
Authorities confiscated 53,325 kilogrammes of flour with an estimated value of RM100,251. The 25-year-old factory manager, identified as a local resident, could not present any permit or approval documentation from the Supply Controller authorising the storage of flour at the premises.
The investigation is proceeding under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961 (Act 122). Muhammad Nizam stated that the authorities would pursue strict enforcement measures against any individual or organisation discovered to be misusing or diverting subsidised goods, signalling a commitment to preventing unauthorised distribution of controlled commodities.
